Permit Passport is designed to keep renovation evidence on your devices and in your private iCloud storage—not on a JimDoes.it storage server.

Information in the app

You may enter project names and addresses, permit details, contractor information, dates, notes, checklist items, inspection outcomes, corrections, and event metadata. You may also choose evidence from Camera, document scanning, Photos, or Files. Permit Passport stores those records in protected app storage on your iPhone.

The app does not require a JimDoes.it account. It does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or an interaction-analytics SDK. Utility Forces LLC does not operate a database that receives your project archive.

Private iCloud restore

If iCloud is available, the app encrypts structured records and evidence files before placing restore copies in its private iCloud containers. The archive encryption key is stored separately in your synchronizable iCloud Keychain. Apple provides the iCloud and Keychain services and handles them under your Apple Account and Apple’s policies.

iCloud is optional. The app remains usable with its on-device copy when iCloud is unavailable. Synchronization is eventually consistent, so a displayed sync attempt is not a guarantee that every remote copy committed at an exact moment. On a new device, sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive and iCloud Keychain available, install Permit Passport, and use Sync now if restoration is still pending.

Photos, documents, and permissions

Camera access is requested only after you choose Camera or Scan. Apple’s Photos and Files pickers make only your selected items available to the app. Notification permission is requested only after you choose to schedule a reminder. Permit Passport does not request Contacts, Calendar, or device-location permission.

Imported originals are kept intact in private app storage. When you export evidence, precise photo location metadata is removed from export copies by default. You can explicitly choose to include that location. The export screen shows the choice before the files are created.

Exports and sharing

A PDF, ZIP, or evidence file leaves Permit Passport only when you choose to export and select a destination in Apple’s share sheet. The recipient, email provider, messaging service, cloud-drive provider, or other destination then handles that copy under its own terms. Deleting data in Permit Passport cannot recall a copy you already shared.

Subscriptions

Apple processes optional Permit Passport Pro subscriptions. The app uses StoreKit to determine the entitlement associated with your Apple Account. We do not receive your payment-card details. You can restore purchases in the app and manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account.

Deletion and retention

You can delete one project or all saved Permit Passport data in Settings. The app removes the corresponding local evidence and records a deletion marker for private iCloud reconciliation when available, reducing the chance that a stale device restores deleted data. iCloud propagation may take time. Removing the app deletes its local container, but copies already exported or retained by Apple services follow the policies of those services.

Support messages

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. A bug-report draft can include the app version and operating-system context; review it before sending. Evidence files are not attached automatically. We use support messages to answer and investigate your request.

This website

This website may use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate visits, page performance, general device/browser information, and referral sources. The website does not receive or expose your Permit Passport project records. We do not use site analytics for personalized advertising. Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses and ordinary request logs to deliver and protect the site.

Children and sensitive records

Permit Passport is a property-project utility, not a service directed to children. Avoid placing unnecessary identity documents, financial account numbers, medical information, or other unrelated sensitive data in a project.
